The Nook Color is on sale for $199 until March 3, 8AM PT at Barnes And Noble’s Ebay Store. This may just be an effort to maximize sales before the iPad 2 announcement, but hey, the Nook Color & iPad 2 aren’t really going for the same audiences anyway. So don’t miss out if you were thinking of nabbing a Nook!

Update: Thanks to tipster Jon C., I wanted to let you know that this may not be as good a deal as it seems. It’s not a bad deal, but you can get around the same prices (and sometimes cheaper) from http://www.databazaar.com or even at http://www.amazon.com, especially if you factor in taxes. I did a couple comparisons for my printer inks, and newegg with the 40% coupon was cheaper on a couple, but was more expensive on others, but really it was only a 1-2 dollar differential. Take home message: there’s no rush to buy off newegg today unless you’ve got a specific printer that companies like databazaar and amazon don’t have ink for.
Solid deal on a 500gb portable* hard drive.
*“portable” refers to this being about the size of an audio cassette tape(remember those??) and that you only need a single USB cable for data transfer AND power. SO YOU DON’T NEED TO PLUG THIS INTO THE WALL. (This is unlike the post below for the Samsung 1.5TB hdd. That’s a full size hard drive that needs to be plugged into the wall. The advantages to a full size hard drive are: faster and you get more GB for your money.)

Every now and then MacHeist is able to get a handful of software developers to sell their apps in bulk for CHEAP. And these aren’t crappy applications. Some of these are pro applications that I’ve actually bought, and when I’ve seen them appear on MacHeist, I’ll buy another license because it’s such a good deal and I want it on another computer. MacHeist doesn’t come around often, so check it out and see if any of these apps suit your needs. My favorite app in this set is RipIt (a great app for backing up my DVD movies to blank DVDs).
Update: I just bought my set. =)
Not sure if this works with with the already terrific Office 2007 Ultimate student discount for $59.95, but that would be awesome.
Update: Guess it doesn’t work with the student discount offer. Microsoft says: “This offer is not valid for volume license customers, customers with Not-For-Resale or promotional product, customers who purchase Office 2007 through the Home Use Rights or Student Select programs.”
